David’s LinkedIn profile

With twenty years experience in both the non-profit and for-profit worlds, one theme runs through all of David's endeavours: the primacy of people. Some would see a disparity in how he spent his twenties in pastoral ministry and his thirties in the real estate industry, but to David they've been the same thing - care for people. Congregants and clients alike have come to him to help navigate through life's big transitions, both the exciting and the challenging. In recent years, David's 'People Over Property, Always.' approach has led to hundreds of happy real estate clients; hundreds of thousands of dollars fundraised for non-profit partners; a unique role in the communities he serves. 'People Incorporated' is an avenue to put people at the heart of a business unapologetically and naturally.

BROAD EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

David's current day-to-day involves leadership in four companies, ranging from a start-up all the way through to a brokerage with over 250 staff and independent contractors, and everything in between. If you spend any time with David, you'll hear stories from his boots-on-the-ground experience as he leads his own companies and teams. Having grown up in Scotland, David graduated with a Masters of Arts in Divinity at the age of twenty, after which he moved to BC, Canada. David has supplemented his experienTial and academic education by becoming a Certified Birkman Consultant. The Birkman Assessment is the premier psychometric assessment for personality, motivation, behaviour and needs recognition. The Birkman Method reaches further into personality than any other assessment, allowing for individuals to truly understand not only who they are, but why, and provides an excellent springboard into the deep work of understanding yourself and your team.

BEYOND BUSINESS

Beyond David's business endeavours, he has been married to Amanda for over fifteen years and together they are raising three hilariously unique children. David is also keenly involved with his community, serving on multiple boards and committees, hosting a small group in his home, and sponsoring his local professional soccer team, Vancouver Football Club. Two of the charities that David has been most devoted to are Cloverdale Community Kitchen & New Hope Community Services, raising over $100,000 as they help support local and refugee families respectively. David also enjoys golfing (badly), watching (and occasionally playing) soccer, hosting friends and neighbours around the fire, and calling his Mum and Dad back in Scotland most days. If you see him out and about in the community, make sure to stop and introduce yourself.
